Requirement to replace an Air Conditioning System

We were called out to review an Air Conditioning system that was stuck on 31 degrees centigrade, with the client unable to adjust the temperature for their tenant.

Project Overview

After identifying the issue and providing an agreeable quotation, work was carried out at our client’s site to carry out the replacement of the Air Conditioning system in the comms room for one of their tenants.

Key Highlights

1

The outdoor unit is situated on a corner balcony ledge, four levels above Sauchiehall Street, which led to us conducting a survey of the area to ensure the work could be carried out safely.

2

Once the survey was completed, we sourced an appropriate mobile anchor system for works to be carried out on this area.

3

As we were also working inside an occupied office, we had to be mindful of noise levels, cleanliness and ensuring that no trip hazards were left.

Challenges

The main challenge was sourcing the man safe system and working in a small tight roof area with a harness; decommissioning, removing, installing and then commissioning a new system.

Results

The client now has a fully operational Air Conditioning system in their comms room, set at a more comfortable 19 degrees centigrade, allowing for greater efficiency. On completion of all works, a full clean of the work area was carried out and further checks to ensure no mess was left behind. As some of the work was directly within the comms room, we also had to be sure that we operated clear of the servers and did not interfere with any comms equipment.

Our client was happy with the work completed. As a result, subsequent discussions have taken place where they have asked us to engage with them directly for additional works in their other locations. We are delighted to welcome a new client in recognition of our service excellence.
